The title or logo for a film is essentially the face of the picture. In this new video from Academy Originals, we get to see and hear from designer Dan Perri as he explains how he got into title making and the logos behind some of the most iconic films in history.

Perri reveals that he fell in love with letters at a very early age, 12 to be exact. Once he got older, he decided to seek out legendary graphic designer and Academy Award winning filmmaker, Saul Bass, who ultimately ended up being his mentor.

Dan then went on to disclose that he caught his first big break by designing the title for The Exorcist. He has since gone on to create the logos for a number of classic pictures, including Star Wars and Raging Bull, among many others.

To hear from the man himself regarding his title designs for a slew of iconic movies, press play above.
